Sitting upon a tree stump, you see a flash of white and black. You look up, intrigued. A magnificent white tiger looks back over its shoulder, fixing you up with a piercing stare. It flicks its tail, beckoning you to follow it and starts to spring up the rocky face of the mountain. You scramble after it, entranced. Upon reaching the peak, it stops and looks back, offering one last glance before shimmering and disappearing. You rub your eyes. Is it some foul trick? Since you are here, you may as well finish the climb. You reach where the tiger stood and admire the view. Wait... what is that? Far in the distance are the high peaks of mountains. No island had been there before, but now a mist-shrouded isle lies in the sparkling sea. Something calls to you as the siren to a sailor. Abandoning all reason you rush down the rocky crag, eager to find a boat and set sail to the island.
Days, weeks, perhaps even months have passed since you set sail. The thick, grey mist is impassable. You feel as though you have sailed in circles for ages. Turning back would be futile, you are hopelessly lost. Suddenly, as if by miracle, the mist begins to disperse. Soon you have left the blanket of mist behind. You find yourself in a small harbor of the calmest sapphire waters. You let your boat run aground on the sandy shore. You have made it!
Out of the corner of your eye you see the telltale flash of white and black. Looking up, you see the same white tiger sitting where the sand met grass and tree. You approach cautiously, not knowing if this animal would hurt you. When you are ten strides away, the tiger begins to change. Within no time, in the place of the tiger stands a young elf. Long black hair flutters in the salty breeze. Vibrant emerald eyes regard you emotionlessly.
"Welcome, stranger," she says finally. "Welcome to the Land of Eniryn. Shall you depart, or shall you stay?" She grins a predatory smile, revealing sharp canines. This girl clearly knows something you do not. "But be wary, stranger. Not everything is as it seems."
